1. How can I be guaranteed that my sensitive documents have been completely destroyed?

At the end of every shred, a Certificate of Destruction is issued to clients assuring them that their materials have been completely destroyed. We also encourage you to come out and witness the shredding process.

2. Does MultiShred conduct background checks on its employees?

Yes. All of our Employees, including Drivers, Handlers, Administrative, and Customer Service Representatives undergo extensive background checks and are security-screened and insured.

3. Do you educate employees on legislative policies and procedures?

Yes. MultiShred maintains an training program that is responsible for training our staff in all aspects of our business from standards to best practice policies. We produce and distribute both newsletters help keep our staff informed of recent changes in legislation. We also produce a newsletter for our clients to help them stay informed on government compliant destruction and equipment guidelines as well as standards and issues. We have presented papers at various seminars including ASIS (American Society of Industrial Security), ARMA (Association of Records Managers & Administrators).

4. How often do your employees undergo training?

Training for our employees is ongoing. Extensive training is available to our new employees as well for existing employees. With the ever changing requirements for data destruction from IT media to recycling education, new processes means that we are training our staff on the latest leading edge technologies and Government of Canada compliance.

5. I have my records with a records storage vendor; can you provide services to shred these documents?

Yes. We are very competitive in our services, offering shredding services for paper and other types of media – no matter where your records are located.

6. What if I only need to use your service one time or for a an annual clean-up?

We provide shredding services for Government, Corporate, Home Office and Individual clients. Whatever your requirements, from daily activity to annual purges, we’re happy to meet your needs.

7. What size jobs do you accept?

No matter what size your organization or project is, we feel that it is important provide everyone the same high level of service from small home shredding projects to large scale office destruction projects. We service everything from Individual Clients, Home Offices, Governments and Corporate Organizations.

8. Is there a fuel surcharge for your services?

No. We do not have ancillary fees such as additional fuel charge for our shredding services. Competitors may charge up to 15% of the total invoice.

9. What should I shred and what can MultiShred destroy?

MultiShred can shred almost anything, from paper documents, financial statements, credit and debit cards, passports, photos, microfiche, computer printouts, medical records, architectural drawings, overhead slides, christograms, printer ribbons and uniforms. As well we shred IT media such as computer hard drives and servers, cell phones, Blackberry’s, thumb drives, floppy disks, CD’s & DVD’s, audio & video tapes, backup tapes such as DLT’s, Controlled Goods and more.

10. Do you have paper recycling services?

Yes. From the first day of operation we have been reducing the the environmental impact associated with dumping material into landfills. Post shredded paper from cardboard to documents is used in re-manufactured new paper products.

11. What happens to items such as binders that can’t be recycled?

We believe in the 3R’s, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Shredding binders would contaminate the shredded paper and the paper mills would not accept the material for recycling. With the clients permission, all useful binders are donated to schools program for underprivileged students.

12. If we purchase a new shredder will you recycle my old shredder?

When you receive the new shredder we will remove the old unit and completely recycle it.

 

13. Are there any hidden fees to your services?

No minimum charges, no cost for the Destruction Certificate, no fuel surcharges, no cost to recycle material, no account maintenance fees, no charges for recycling cardboard or binders, no service initiation fees, no cost for removing metal clips.
